Design your adventure
Troop 846G follows a “scout-led” philosophy, meaning we ask the youth members of the troop to participate in the planning and operation of the troop. By design, this model transforms troop management into a hands-on leadership laboratory where youth build real self-reliance, resilience, and accountability. It also makes the whole program more fun when scouts have a say in what we do, where we go, and how they map their own path through rank advancement and merit badges.

Confidence starts here
Through hands-on outdoor experiences, scouts push past their comfort zones and realize what they are capable of achieving. Because the program encourages youth to take on leadership roles and make their own decisions, stumbles along the way become low-stakes learning opportunities rather than setbacks. Overcoming these physical and mental hurdles teaches Scouts that failure is simply a step toward mastery, forging an enduring emotional grit that stays with them long into adulthood.
